Among the vast kingdom of Terra Vordica, many provinces and cities lie. Across the kingdom, there are two main beliefs. Terr, and Vorr, believed to be the Magickal and Physical halves of a being, each have their own followings. The cities of Cryssalys, Mystia, and Archealla are primarily devoted to belief in the Magickal half of themselves, or the Vorr. The Cities of Daemoore, Valius, and Felna, however, are mostly devoted to belief in Terr, the physical half of the being. There has often been bickering and feuds between the two sides, but never war. Recently, though, a ruthless military commander named Scarlet Storm in the City of Daemoore has begun to turn people towards her belief that the believers of Vorr should be put into submission and not allowed to practice their magick. In response, Archmage Excio from the city of Mystia has rallied a force of mages from the other cities, and is prepared to defend their beliefs at all costs.

The village of Har'yinyae, outskirts of Valius, was what you would expect from a poor Terr settlement. Though the people here had their unique struggles, it was not a place of extreme poverty. The well cleared paths of compact brown earth ran throughout the village, leading to modest homes, small shops, cozy inns for weary travels, and other locations of interest. The people here were diligent in their labors, working with their hands and never with magic. As was the way of the Terr. Har'yinyae was truly a village devoted to the physical operations of Terra Vordica.
Even so, it still accepted people of Vorr. The Magickal Believers made up a fraction of the village's population, but despite negligible disputes, they still had friends here. More importantly opportunities to learn of the Terr way, some would say. And though it was looked down upon by the majority, the Vorr used their magic in little ways to help the friends they have made here. Altogether, the people of Har'yinyae were a happy people.

...They
were a happy people.

The fissure was small, but it was there. Only few could see it. And with every passing day, with preachers coming often-trying to turn the hearts of the people to Scarlet Storm's cause-the fissure grew. This united people would become divided with strangers instantly becoming hated opponents. Friends will become the bitterest of enemies. Families will be torn apart. And the worst part of it? It will be because they want to do good. They want to be good. And they will all believe they are. So who will be in the right? Whose morals are good? Whose values are good? Is it up to the individual to decide? Is there any one person who has the right to decide on behalf of this people?

"I SAID ENOUGH!"

A flash of light and a whistling sound followed the scream. Two teenage boys in worn tunics were launched to the dirt from in front of the bakery. One skidded on his back an additional few feet while the other rolled clear to the other side of the path. The already gathered group scurried back from the Vorr boy, whose eyes were still giving off a faint pink glow, like smoke from a fired cannon. The ruffed up teen clutched his left arm as he stood slightly hunched forward in front of the bakery windows with his knees knocked together. His jaws were clenched together, so much so that it seemed as if he were baring his teeth at the two he had knocked away, and he glowered at them with furrowed eyebrows and wide eyes prickling with tears.

Shouts came from down the street a moment after the commotion, and people were pushed aside as a group of four men wearing chest-plates emblazoned with the symbol of the Terr across the front came marching towards the commotion. A fifth walked in their midst, a head taller than the rest and wearing a finely wrought helmet that added even more to his stature. upon reaching the scene, the four soldiers spread out, and the taller one, obviously an Officer, stepped forwards, holding a hand up to silence the murmurs.

"What's this all about?" he demanded, glaring back and forth from the two boys who had been thrown to the one hunched in front of the bakery. He made a slight motion, and the soldiers pressed the group of onlookers back some, leaving only the Officer and the three boys on this section of the street.

The boy on his back rolled to his side and began to stiffly push himself back up.
"You..." he growled with a furious gaze aimed at the Vorr boy.

The boy on the other side of the path was on all fours when the Terr soldiers arrived. His head snapped up to the Officers before quickly ducking to avoid bringing attention to himself. As for his friend, the fury changed to fear when he saw the soldiers.

"H-He was using magic!" the boy immediately blurted, pointing an accusing finger to the Vorr boy, "We were trying to stop him!"

The Officer narrowed his eyes slightly, peering at the hunched Vorr boy for a moment, then looked back to the other. He was quiet for a moment, assessing the situation.

"Taking the peace into your own hands can be a dangerous thing, boy." the Officer said slowly, his eyes moving once again to the boy hunched in front of the bakery. He looked like a cornered animal. And cornered animals could be deadly. Thinking for a moment longer, he continued, addressing the Vorr boy.

"You know as the rest of us do that any magic that disrupts the peace or hurts another is punishable. You can come with us now and face your consequences...but if you try and fight back, know that you will feel the full furious force of the Storm. I suggest you come with us now, quietly." He motioned for two of the soldiers to move towards the boy.

The Vorr boy took in a sharp breath, starting to back into the front wall of the bakery.

"I was only trying to help!" he yelled, holding himself tighter. Though his eyes shut tight, the pink glow, now darkening to a red hue, seeped out from beneath his eyelids. "They harassed me! I was defending myself!"

Of the onlookers present, there was one hidden by the shadows of a Material Shop across the street. With their hood drawn over their head, the figure had their back pressed against the side wall. Though an open journal rested on their gloved hand, the figure's attention was on the scene that unraveled before them. They made no move to interfere. They only watched.

A moment before the two soldiers reached the boy, a tendril of thought pierced the air, only visible to someone with a good grasp of Vorr. It was aimed at the boy, and unless he had very specific wards put up, he would feel an overwhelming feeling of peace and comfort, and for a few minutes be willing to do most things he was told. No person would have seen a physical movement from the Officer, but any who knew where to look, would know that the tendril came from him.

"Silence, boy. Your struggles are in vain. You must know that to fight us is to fight the Great Storm itself."

[You can have him avoid the tendril if you want, but just know that I have something planned if he submits and goes with them ^.^]
